Eligibility
- Films made between January 1, 2024, and October 31, 2026, are eligible.
- The film can be entered by any organization, agency, individual film producer/director, or college student who holds the copyright.
- There is no restriction on the number of entries.
Procedure

Applicants must complete all required fields and provide accurate information. Applicants must upload the film synopsis, screening link, subtitles (where applicable), poster, photographs/stills, filmmaker bio-data and required supporting documents. Campus Film applicants must submit a valid Student ID Card; institutions/colleges must provide the required institutional details.
The duly signed Filmmaker Consent & OTT Declaration must be submitted along with the entry.
All materials must be submitted in the prescribed format within the specified deadline. Incomplete submissions may not be considered.
Entry Fee
- To be paid through online payment gateway (Entry fee is non-refundable)
- Feature Film : Rs. 2500/-
- Short Film : Rs. 1500/-
- Documentary Film : Rs. 1500/-
- Music Video : Rs. 1500/-
- AI Short Film : Rs. 1000/-
- Campus Film : Rs. 500/-
- Entrant is required to submit film in H.264/MP4 (under 5 GB with 1920x1080 resolution) through Vimeo Link/ Google Drive.
Campus Film
- Entries in the “Campus Film” category are open to students, colleges, schools, universities, and other educational institutions. Students applying individually must submit a valid Student ID Card along with their film. Institutional applicants may submit the film on behalf of their respective institution.
Final Submission
- All selected films in prescribed format should be received in the festival on or by 15th November, 2026
Communication & Selection
- Successful submission of an entry will be acknowledged via E-mail/Phone.
- Selected filmmakers will be notified via the E-mail address or official phone number provided at the time of submission.
- Festival updates and programme details will be shared via E-mail/official phone number and on the MERATV website and social media page (@meratv.in).
Hospitality
There is no provision for Director / Producers / Filmmakers for Transportation / Accommodation etc.
Selection Process
- Entries will be previewed by a duly constituted Selection Committee, which will select/ recommend best films for the competition sections.
- Festival Selection Committee will have the right to make copies for pre-selection / selection purpose.
- The decision of the Selection Committees shall be final & binding on all.
- Film once selected and submitted for the final screening, will not be allowed to be withdrawn under any circumstances.
- Participation in the festival implies acceptance of Festival Regulations.
Jury
- A duly constituted Jury shall determine the winning films in respective categories. The decision of the Jury will be final and binding on all.
- The Jury reserves the right to withhold an award in any category where no entry, in the Jury's view, meet the standards for award / recognition.
- It also reserves the right to recommend sharing of award(s) in any category and to recommend special Jury award/Certificate of Merit.
Rights of Festival Directorate
- Festival Jury reserves the right to accept or not to accept any film for screening in any category without assigning any reason(s) whatsoever.
- Official selected films will be retained by MERATV for screenings in MERATV OTT.
- The MERATV Film Festival will have the right to screen Official Selection Films in different places in India and on social media platforms for promotion/publicity of documentaries/films and MERATV OTT.
- Decisions of the Festival Jury regarding all matters, not expressly provided for in these regulations or which require interpretation of the clauses mentioned above, shall be final and binding on all.
Copyright
- It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to secure clearance from the copyright holders of any copyrighted material included in the film. MERATV will not be held responsible for the unauthorized inclusion of any copyrighted material within or relating to the submitted film. MERATV reserves the right to disqualify any film with any unauthorized inclusion of copyrighted material.
Shipment
- Cost of shipment (by any mode) of film in any digital media to the Festival shall be borne by the entrant.
- Festival Directorate will not be responsible for normal wear and tear of the filmic materials.
General
- MERATV is under no obligation to provide comments or feedback regarding the submitted film to the entrant or any other representative.
- For the promotion and publicity of the MERATV Film Festival, short excerpts, scenes or shots from submitted films may be used across television, cinema, websites, social media, digital platforms and other promotional media.
- Short excerpts, scenes or shots from selected films may also be featured on the official MERATV website and social media platforms for festival promotion.
- Entry forms containing incorrect, incomplete, illegible or ambiguous information, or submitted without the required entry fee, certificate or undertaking, may not be considered.
- Requests for fee waiver will not be entertained.
Disclaimer
- All disputes in respect of any matter relating to the MERATV Film Festival shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
