Organizing a film festival of this caliber in Jharkhand is a commendable initiative. By providing a platform for local filmmakers and arranging sessions with industry professionals, you’re fostering a vibrant film culture. This effort will inspire and offer valuable learning opportunities to local talent. My heartfelt congratulations to Mera TV Film Festival and GR8DESIGNS for this outstanding event

Tathagata Bhattacherjee

Tathagata Bhattacherjee is an award-winning Bengali film director, known for films like Antarghaat, Seven Days, Astra, and Akorik. He was also the Executive Producer for Goutam Ghose’s Hindi film Raahgir. Alongside feature films, he has made documentaries, corporate films, TV films, and shorts, many earning awards at national and international festivals. For Jharkhand’s cinema to thrive, collaboration with filmmakers from outside is crucial. Satish Munda

Satish Munda, a Jharkhand-born graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, is known for his powerful storytelling. His award-winning short film Dansh and documentary Drishti earned him recognition, while his short film Jadugoda, made with Ultra Media Entertainment, shed light on uranium issues. Congratulations to the MERATV Film Festival! This groundbreaking event brought together industry professionals and local filmmakers on a shared platform — a first of its kind in Jharkhand. As an FTII alumnus, I understand the importance of such sessions, which were a vital part of our learning but remain rare opportunities for aspiring filmmakers in this region.

The opportunity to watch films, especially documentaries, should always be available. Events like the MERATV Film Festival are a great initiative, and such efforts should continue. I believe that no cinema is truly regional—while a film may focus on a specific region, cinema is for all audiences, whether national or international. It is created for viewers, no matter where they are from.
